Trip Down Memory Lane

I was just looking through my post... In particular, Dylanisms. LOL I just have to laugh when I read those. The funny thing is that he is still just as funny to me. Even though most of those post were when he was like 2 yrs. old and now he will be 5 next month he never ceases to amaze me. I need to keep writing them down. But I need to add Cooperisms and Coyisms. I really enjoy my kids for the most part haha.

Last night, Brett and I got the night off. All the kids had a sleepover at Grandma Sherry's and we went to the movies. We saw "True Grit". It was an ok movie. Pretty funny in some places, Gory in others but over all sad. I mean at the end (don't read further if you haven't seen the movie and would like to) the horse dies, the old man dies, she losses her arm, and ends up as a grumpy old maid. What kind of ending is that? Not to mention that the whole movie is about her revenging her father's death. While she is younger the grumpy "I don't take crap from nobody" attitude is super funny but when she still has that attitude as an old maid... yeah someone needs to slap her and tell her to enjoy life a little more.

Hahaha I guess that is my thoughts about that. haha

New Year... 2011

Notice how adorable Tessa's party outfit is :D

Wow It's here. I can't believe that a new year has come and I get to start fresh with so many things.
One of those things being this gosh darn blog haha. I have made a resolution to try again and keep this updated. What a great day to start? 1.1.11 It's amazing how refreshing a new year is to me this time around.
Last night for New Year's Eve I had the kids go out and bang the pans together. It was frigged but I was smart this year. We had a count down and everything but it was only 8 o'clock instead of midnight. haha last year I made the kids stay up all night and 15 min. before midnight they fell asleep and it was miserable to get them to bang pans and want to be out in the cold. So we just did it a little early this year. Yeah we'll do it early from here on out until they can tell time haha.

I have so many things to be grateful for this year. Unfortunately, I didn't take the time to tell you about them before now. However, I will compile a Top 10 Events list and share it now with you... Oh by the way, this is what I am doing for my "Holiday Card" this year. So if you would like a personal copy then just send me your address. I would love to send one to you.

10. No Serious Injuries... However, both Cooper and McCoy tried to bit their tongues off, Brett had hernia surgery, and I broke my foot.
9. Good Medication... haha People often ask me how I can handle having so many kids. Well there you have it. No really though, I am grateful for all 5 of my kids. Sometimes it is extremely overwhelming but that brings us to another point to be grateful for...
8. Amazing Friends... I have the best friends in the whole world. My number one best friend being my husband. (No matter how many times we argue over who my best friend is haha... I always say Angela an he tells me it is him... Well of course) However, I feel really loved by all my great friends in my ward and from other areas. Thank You guys so much for being there for me and allowing me to be there for you.
7. Ability to Travel... We have taken several trips this year. Mostly just Brett and I but there have been a few with all the kids. We always go to Lake Powell, Park City and of course Grandma & Grandpa's but this year we added a few more. Brett & I went to Alaska, Moose Hunting. Time of our lives... will never forget that experience. We also went to Mesa, Az to see Granddad for Thanksgiving. (doesn't seem as cool as Alaska, I know, but the kids joined us on that one and they loved it). Finally, I went to Seattle to visit with my mission companions. I really am grateful for the ability to visit those we love and see new places.
6. Geese a laying... LOL I couldn't think of another way to count this blessing. Being every little thing in between.
5. Education... Kendrick is doing well in school. He is such a smart cookie (sometimes too smart for his own good but who's paying attention haha). Dylan is in his second year of preschool and is almost ready for a reading book. Cooper was tested to see if he could benefit from Speech Therapy and he can. So we will start him this coming month.
4. A Roof Over Our Heads... We bought a new house this year. haha Turns out we love our neighborhood so much that we decided that we wanted to stay forever. We bought the house directly in the backyard of our old one. LOL We have NO plans of EvEr moving again. We will be renting out our old house until the opportunity arrives to sell it.
3. Work... Especially in our downed economy we are so grateful for Brett's ability to have a job. This year brought a twist however, he was given the opportunity to move from UVU (Utah Valley University) and work for a company called Unicity. After weighing the options, we decided to take this new job and Brett will be starting there on Monday, January 3, 2011.
2. A Baby Girl... Tessa was born this year and we are super thrilled to have her in our family. She adds a new dimension that was well needed. It is sweet to see the boys go from rough and tumble to soft and sweet in Tessa's presence. They just melt when they try to communicate with her, especially McCoy. Tessa and McCoy are seriously best friends. It's weird that you can tell that already but they are.
1. The Gospel Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-Day Saints... Without it I would be nothing. I would have nothing and I would be truly lost. It's because of our faith in a Higher Being that we have been able to endure loss and sorrow but also enjoy triumph and true happiness. I am so grateful for my Savior, Jesus Christ, and the sacrifice He made for me and for all of us. I am going to study more about him this year and I am thrilled to learn how to recognize Him when I see him again. We enjoy our callings in the ward so much. Brett is the Elder's Quorum President and I am the Young Women's Secretary and will be the Beehive Advisor this coming year.
