Broken Foot

Last Thursday, I was at a friends house and when I stepped down off the porch I happened to hit the one spot that was loose. In doing so my foot popped and down I went.
I was so embarrassed. I have such bad ankles that it doesn't take much to drop me to the ground. I just happened to be on the phone with one of my Young Women and walking with Brett and our realtor.
So there I lay on the ground in pain. I felt so retarded, embarrassed and well hurt. I just thought it would go away but the pain continued for an hour or so. So I decided to go to the dr.
The results of that visit was an inconclusive X-ray. Dr. Berry said there wasn't a fracture however there was some bone damage and he wanted me to see a podiatrist. He said I had os navicularis. Of course I didn't know what that was so I googled it.
Just so happens that nos navicular syndrome is something one is born with. It is an extra bone attached to the inside of a foot, slightly to the side of the ankle. K so with this dr. Berry wanted me to seek further help. He said it wS possible that I injured that bone or just aggravate it in the fall.
Today I had my appointment with Dr. Gary Ridge. He took another X-ray. Again no fractures appeared. He think however that I have a slight stress fracture below my outside toes. The area is super sensitive and he said there is a knot in the area. Which would lead he to believe it is a stress fracture.
As for the extra bone, it is there. He said that bone is attached by cartilage between the two. So in this injury it is possible that I broke the cartilage. The X-ray again doesn't dhow but usually the bone is a defined circle. Mine is misshapen and smashed to the bone of my foot. This tells him the cartilage is broken.
So long story even longer and more confusing... I have to wear a boot for the next two weeks. If it isn't painful anymore then that is good and I'm done but if it is then that just reiterates the idea that it is broken and I will have to wear it for an other month.
Yeah not exactly fun!!! Or easy to tell the story. Haha

Well Child Check

McCoy and Tessa had their Well Child Checks today. We had a few concerns we
wanted to address for both of them.
McCoy has always had bad bowel movements. Bad beinging hard, deer pellets, that often accompany sand like crumbles. How's that for gross? And too much info haha. Anyway, so we asked about that. We have to take him off cows milk for 1-2 weeks to see if that changes anything. Yeah right like that is going to happen! Let's just skip to the next solution which would be to give him Miralax. I think I can handle that. Our family is way to dependent on dairy.
His percentages are as follows:
Weight - 14%
Length - 65%
Head Circumference - 42%
Tessa has similar problems. She hasn't gone poop on her own for a month! WoW I know. haha I give her a week to do it on her own and then I give her a suppository. Then she goes (sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't) Then I give her another week and same thing. Well I was getting really worried that something was wrong. So her appt. came in a timely manner. I have to give her Miralax as well. Do you think my dr. just has Miralax on the brain? haha I would except for the fact that they each saw different dr.s today.
Hopefully it will calm her down though.
She has been the most tense baby I've had thus far. She is always fussy. But can you blame her... she can't poop. Her dad tells her it isn't lady like and she can only have one movement a week. Obviously he is just joking. Other then that she is just fine.
Her percentages are as follows:
Weight - 38%
Length - 37%
Head Circumference - 57%
It's crazy how much babies grow in such a short period of time. And not in all areas. Last month she was in the 24th percentile for her weight and in the 85th for her length. So she didn't grow much this month as far as length but weight she is doing well.
Well that is the gist of it. Too much info I know. But that is what is on my mind.

Same Day Surgery

McCoy is getting tubes put in his ears this morning. Doesn't he look cute in his little hospital gown?
He has to have tubes because he has had 7 ear infections in his short lifetime. I think he might even have a current one. He just finished meds for one 2 weeks ago and he has been pulling at his ears still. Poor buddy! But they say he should feel better almost instantly.

His surgery went well. The Dr. said that his right ear just had a little bit of water in it. Not a big deal. But his left ear was so compacted with snotty guck that they had to suction it out using alot of force. Good News is he is clean now and everything went really well.
When they brought him to us he wasn't crying or anything. My sister-in-law had warned us that the worst was after the surgery. But not for Coy. The hardest part was the nurse taking him out of Brett's arms and Coy just screaming and longing to be back with us.
He hasn't had any problems all day and now his snug in his bed fast asleep. Sweet Coy!
